What I do

Professional photography is an excellent career choice for anyone who wants to get paid for using their creative talents. It’s one of the few fields where age and college degrees aren’t as important as a good eye, a quality product, and self-discipline.

Photography is a competitive field, so be prepared to start small. Then perfect your craft and build a portfolio of your best work.

How I do it

I frame people, shoot, then hang them on the wall. Sometimes I even cut off their heads.

Where I live

Living in Boston is everything great that you could imagine living in a city would be. Boston is relatively small, its often called the walking city. We’ve got world class museums universities, theater, healthcare and dining all minutes away. And It’s safe too…

Portrait Photography

Portrait photography or portraiture in photography is a photograph of a person or group of people that captures the personality of the subject by using effective lighting, backdrops, and poses. A portrait picture might be artistic, or it might be clinical, as part of a medical study.

Frequently, portraits are commissioned for special occasions, such as weddings or school events. Portraits can serve many purposes, from usage on a personal Web site to display in the lobby of a business.

Wedding Photography

Wedding photography is a specialty in photography that is primarily focused on the photography of events and activities relating to weddings. It may include other types of portrait photography of the couple before the official wedding day, such as a pre-wedding engagement session (photographs are later used for the couple wedding invitations). On the official wedding day, the photographer(s) will attempt to provide portrait photography, as well as documentary photography coverage to document the different events and rituals throughout the wedding day(s).

Bar and Bat Mitzvah

Coming of age for a Jew, which happens automatically at age 13 for a boy and 12 for a girl, is termed Bar and Bat Mitzvah , that is, obligated to perform the Jewish mitzvot (commandments). A ceremony marking the first performance of mitzvot such as being called up to the Torah to say the blessings (known as “getting an aliyah“) began to make sense only in the Middle Ages.

Street Photography

Street photography, also sometimes called candid photography, is photography conducted for art or enquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places. Although there is a difference between street and candid photography, it is usually subtle with most street photography being candid in nature and some candid photography being classifiable as street photography. Street photography does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment.

Though people usually feature directly, street photography might be absent of people and can be of an object or environment where the image projects a decidedly human character in facsimile or aesthetic.

HDR Photography

HDR is a great, fun, new old way to take photos and capture the world around you. If you’ve been disappointed by photos you’ve taken because you don’t feel like it quite captures what you saw, maybe HDR is for you!

HDR is short for High Dynamic Range. It is a post-processing task of taking either one image or a series of images, combining them, and adjusting the contrast ratios to do things that are virtually impossible with a single aperture and shutter speed.

An HDR image is commonly made by taking three photos of the same scene, each at different shutter speeds. The result is a bright, medium, and dark photo, based on the amount of light that got through the lens. A software process then combines all the photos to bring details to the shadows and highlights both. This helps to achieve the same task in the final photograph that the human eye can accomplish on the scene.

Landscape Photography

It may feel like a silly question, but the definition of landscape photography is, like all forms of art, open to personal interpretation. What constitutes landscape photography to one individual may in fact been seen as something entirely different from another persons perspective.

When looking at the definition of landscape photography it would make sense to start with the ‘dictionary meaning’, the most simple and direct interpretation of what landscape photography is.

Animals Photography

Wildlife photography is a genre of photography concerned with documenting various forms of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Pet photography is a fun and profitable niche business that allows you to combine a love of animals with technical skill in photography. A growing number of owners are interested in displaying professional photos of their pets. They are willing to pay a premium for high-quality images.
